WVII, Maine Public interview Ruben about study connecting smartphone use, ability to interpret nonverbal cues

WVII (Channel 7) and Maine Public interviewed Mollie Ruben, an assistant professor of psychology at University of Maine, about the study she led which found that how people use smartphones can indicate their ability to understand and interpret nonverbal social cues. “General use, how much time you spend, screen time does not appear to impact your ability to reprieve others emotions, thoughts and feelings but what does appear to impact is how the participants were using technology,” she said. The Bangor Daily News shared a news release about the study.
