Ellsworth American reports on fitness trackers for lobsters

The Ellsworth American reported on a project led by the University of Maine Lobster Institute to prototype miniature fitness trackers for lobsters and devices to monitor the quality of their shipping conditions as part of an initiative to reduce stress points and improve survival in the lobster supply chain for the Maine lobster industry. “The main objective is to identify the stress points in the supply chain between trap and the dealers’ storage facilities,” said Lobster Institute director Rick Wahle.
