Two Maine 4-H teens featured in a National Academies video about the COVID-19 pandemic and racism
Two 4-H Teen Teachers from University of Maine Cooperative Extension 4-H in Cumberland County — 16-year-old Anna Deng and 14-year-old Naimo Mohamed — are featured in a video produced by the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine.
The teens were selected because they demonstrated leadership this summer through participation in the 4-H Community Central project in Maine, funded by the USDA Children, Youth, and Families at Risk Grant Program. The video, which focuses on the COVID-19 pandemic and racism, features 15 teens and adults from throughout the country. It debuted Sept. 14 at a virtual forum “Re-imagining a System of Care to Promote the Well-Being of Children and Families.”
