Media report on lobster health tracking innovation

News Center MaineWABI (Channel 5), WVII (Channel 7), Mainebiz and New Atlas picked up a University of Maine news story about the Lobster Institute’s efforts to reduce mortality among lobsters as they move through the supply chain from capture to consumer. UMaine researchers are working with scientists at St. Joseph’s College and Wells National Estuarine Research Reserve and with lobster harvesters and dealers to develop and test miniature sensory devices that will travel with lobsters to monitor and mitigate conditions that impact their health.
