VillageSoup announces Waldo County Extension offering scholarships

VillageSoup announced the Waldo County Extension Association and Maine 4-H Foundation are offering a $1,500 scholarship for graduating Waldo County seniors. The scholarship is designed to assist students interested in pursuing a degree that aligns with the mission of University of Maine Cooperative Extension, which is to help Maine people improve their lives through an educational process that uses research-based knowledge focused on issues and needs, the article states. To apply, students can send a 500- to 1,000-word essay by April 12; the questions and more information are online. Priority will be given to students who have prior experience with Cooperative Extension or in their field of study. The award will be presented at the annual 4-H Foundation meeting in May at UMaine, VillageSoup reported. The Waldo County Extension Homemakers’ Council also is offering a $200 scholarship to a graduating Waldo County senior, according to VillageSoup.
