UMaine composite arch bridges cited in Mainebiz article on construction award winner

The University of Maine’s composite arch bridge technology was cited in a Mainebiz article about the winner of the Associated General Contractors of Maine’s Major Achievement in Construction Award. AGC Maine presented the award to Doug Hermann, president of the Richmond-based Wyman & Simpson Inc. Under Hermann’s leadership, the company has used built two bridges using Bridge-in-a-Backpack, a composite beam bridge system developed by UMaine’s Advanced Structures and Composites Center, the article states.
