UMaine PD offers tips on avoiding cashier’s check fraud
The University of Maine Police Department reminds students and other members of the UMaine community to be vigilant and not fall victim to scams involving fraudulent cashier’s checks. Among the important reminders: Accept cashier’s checks only from people you know. For instance, new employers will not ask you to deposit a check and then make a withdrawal.
