Ph.D. student’s spruce grouse research focus of BDN column

Research being conducted by Joel Tebbenkamp, a University of Maine Ph.D. student in the Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Conservation Biology, was featured in the Bangor Daily News article, “Why are spruce grouse declining in the Northeast? Study aims to find out why,” by Bob Duchesne, vice president of Maine Audubon’s Penobscot Valley Chapter. The mission of Tebbenkamp and his team is to put radio collars on spruce grouse in the North Woods and visit them often to get a sense of how they use the forest, according to the article.
