Mainebiz, BDN report on $4.8 million grant for bioproduct development

Mainebiz picked up a University of Maine news release highlighting an award of $4.8 million from the Defense Logistics Agency Energy Readiness Program to UMaine’s Forest Bioproducts Research Institute (FBRI). According to Hemant Pendse, FBRI director, the grant will support significant facility upgrades and continuing research into the development of novel products, including alternative fuels, from woody biomass. The Bangor Daily News also reported on the award.
