Daily Bulldog, Morning Ag Clips preview UMaine Extension produce safety course

The Daily Bulldog and Morning Ag Clips previewed a University of Maine Cooperative Extension Produce Safety Alliance grower training course. The course will be offered 9 a.m.–6 p.m. March 29 at the Dover-Foxcroft Congregational Church, with a snow date of April 4; and 9 a.m.–6 p.m. April 5 at the University of Maine at Farmington’s Olsen Memorial Student Center, with a snow date of April 19 at Mt. Blue High School. The course will provide a foundation for farm food safety best practices and coordinated management information, and information on Food Safety Modernization Act requirements and details on developing a farm food safety plan, the article states. Participants should come prepared to share experiences and ask questions. Registration is online, and the $25 fee includes training manual and lunch.
