Olivia Bogucki, MA, graduate fellow of the Maine chapter of the national Scholars Strategy Network, published an article on the public health challenge associated with depression in older adulthood. The article also discusses policy recommendations to best serve the people of Maine.

Graduate Student Rachel Goetze successfully defended her dissertation, “The Role of Perceived Control and Cardiac Function Among Individuals with Binge Eating Symptomatology” Congratulations, Dr. Goetze!

  Lab manager, Meaghan Delcourt accepted a postbaccalaureate research position in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Pittsburgh. Meaghan will work on the Pittsburgh Girls Study (PGS) under the direction of Dr. Hipwell. The PGS is a large, longitudinal study funded by the National Institutes of Health. Well done, Meaghan!

Congratulations to Olivia Bogucki, MA, who was selected from more than 300 applicants to receive a full tuition scholarship to attend the Graduate Student Workshop: CBT for Depression and Suicide at the Beck Institute in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Very well deserved!

The MMDL is delighted to announce that Liv LiaBraaten, J.D. has accepted an offer of admission into the Doctoral Training Program in Clinical Psychology at the University of Maine. Liv will officially join the MMDL this year as a first year graduate student. Welcome, Liv!        

MMDL is excited to announce that Olivia Bogucki, MA will complete her clinical predoctoral internship at the APA-accredited VA San Diego Healthcare System/ University of California, San Diego, CA. Olivia will complete major rotations in Behavioral Medicine, including the Spinal Cord Injury Unit. Amazing work, Olivia!
