Linda Silka named president-elect of SPSSI

Linda Silka, a social and community psychologist and Mitchell Center senior fellow, has been named president-elect of the Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues (SPSSI).

SPSSI is an organization of social scientists that has historically brought research to bear on a wide array of societal problems. The society was organized during the Depression of the 1930s and also figures prominently in broader social and disciplinary histories of science, American civic society and international peace and conflict, according to the SPSSI website.
