Alex Young
Alex Young is the Humanities Specialist for the Clement and Linda McGillicuddy Humanities Center. They support and facilitate the operations of the Center, including programming and marketing, as well as serving as a resource for research and professionalization for the Undergraduate Fellows.
An interdisciplinary artist, writer, and curator whose research-based practice examines ruderal ecologies as well as forms of human and other-than-human co-creation, Alex’s work has been exhibited nationally and internationally at venues including ACC Galerie (Weimar), Spanien 19C (Aarhus), Kiasma Theater (Helsinki), 4GROUND Midwest Land Art Biennial, and Hallwalls Contemporary Arts Center (Buffalo). Their curatorial projects have been shared at venues including San Diego Art Institute, MOCA Tucson, and SixtyEight Art Institute (Copenhagen). They have published writings and essays for Drain Magazine, Technoetic Arts, and Plant Perspectives.
