“Their sound is gone out”: Handel’s Messiah in America.
Francis John Vogt, Director of Choral Activities and Lecturer in the School of Performing Arts, will give a talk on the performance history of George Frideric Handel’s oratorio Messiah in
the United States and the work’s enduring influence on classical music performers and audience.
This lecture is in conjunction with Vogt’s upcoming performance of Messiah with the University of Maine Singers on Sunday, April 28 at 3pm in the Collins Center for the Arts.
