Sudarshan Chawathe

Sudarshan S. Chawathe serves as Associate Professor of Computer Science and Cooperating Associate Professor of the Climate Change Institute at the University of Maine. He received the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Computer Science from Stanford University, and the the B.Tech. degree in Computer Science and Engineering from the the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur. He is the recipient of the President’s Gold Medal from IIT Kanpur and a CAREER award from National Science Foundation. His research interests include diverse topics in data management, especially big data, data mining and machine learning, scientific data, semi-structured data and XML, information integration, streaming query processing, data mining, differencing, change management, intelligent transportation systems, peer-to-peer systems, service-oriented and Web architectures, and mobile applications.
