UMaine Engineering Expo Arduino Seminar
ARDUINO 101: GETTING STARTED
March 7, 2020
10:00-12:00 in Barrows 221
Have you ever wanted to start working with the Arduino single board computer? Did you struggle with the programming or just how to begin? Join us on March 7, 2020 at 10:00 to learn the fundamentals of this fun and educational piece of mechatronic hardware. The seminar will cover:

• Basic capabilities such as inputs, outputs, and power rating.
• Writing simple programs for the device.
• Interfacing with sensors so your students can use it to control the world…or at least the myriad of peripherals that are available.

• The Arduino teaching resources available from the Mechanical Engineering Department’s Crosby Hall Knowledge Repository.
The seminar will lead the participants through the construction of a 3D printable table top two axis solar collector which you can download and use in your classrooms.
For more information or to reserve a seat, please email Stephen.Abbadessa@maine.edu
The slides for the presentation can be found here.
Would you like a deeper dive into the world of mechatronics than the material covered in this seminar? Join us for the week long UMaine Summer Mechatronics Camp on June 21-26, 2020. In this class we will cover additional topics such as using the Arduino to control DC motors, stepper motors, sensors, switching high power devices, and datalogging with a PC.
