Growing up in Washington state on a small island I became immersed in everything marine from a very young age. My background includes commercial salmon fishing in the Bering Sea for seven years, and two years of scientific diving. Broadly speaking, my research interests are fisheries modeling and population dynamics. My past work included projects on the age determination Atlantic Salmon, phenotypic plasticity of whelks (sea snails), and the west coast sea star die-off epidemic. Hobbies include SCUBA diving, fishing, and rugby.
