Description
Kate Liberti is a PhD candidate in Oceanography and also manages the Aquaculture Water Quality Testing lab, which provides sampling and analysis of many water quality parameters as well as other oceanographic services to interested aquaculture companies. For her dissertation, she studies carbonate chemistry, production dynamics, and climate impacts in the oyster aquaculture growing area of the Damariscotta River. Kate started working in an oceanography lab while in highschool and has continued in the field since. She has a B.S. in Environmental Science from the University of Rhode Island and a M.S. in Biological Oceanography from the URI Graduate School of Oceanography. Kate lives in Boothbay and enjoys spending time with her family hiking, sailing, snowboarding, and baking in her free time.
