Modeling and simulation of American lobster in the Gulf of Maine: spatial distribution, conservation management, and monitoring program designs.
Develop computer simulation frameworks to:
- explore the non-stationary relationships between top-down (i.e. predators) and bottom-up (i.e. bottom water temperature, distance offshore, and sediment) factors and American lobster.
- quantify the impact of conservation rules (i.e. minimum and maximum legal sizes) on the dynamics of lobster population
- evaluate the effectiveness of lobster monitoring programs in the Gulf of Maine
