Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship
The Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship Program enables students on a Federal Pell Grant the opportunity study or intern abroad, providing them with skills critical to our national security and economic prosperity. This scholarship is funded by the U.S. Department of State.
Benefits:
- Up to $5,000 in funding to cover study abroad costs
- 12 months of noncompetitive eligibility hiring status for jobs within the federal government after receiving the scholarship
- Up to $3,000 of additional funding for students studying critical languages while abroad
Eligibility:
- Be a U.S. citizen or U.S. national
- Be an undergraduate student at an accredited U.S. institution
- Be receiving a Federal Pell Grant during the time of application or prove that they will be receiving a Federal Pell Grant during their term abroad
- Be in the process of applying to a study abroad program
