Using Evidence-Based Practice Isn’t an Option… Now What?

Session Description:  In this one-hour webinar, Scheibel will guide educators through the importance of evidence-based practice and provide tips and resources for locating evidence-based practices and how to address common challenges educators face when attempting to use evidence-based practices. Educators will learn how to build skills to make using these practices easier and determine when and how to use non-evidence-based practices using evidence-based decision making.

Speaker Bio: Gretchen Scheibel is doctoral student at the University of Kansas researching how to make evidence-based practices easier for educators in any classroom to implement. Gretchen also provides consultation in Maine and beyond to design educational programs based on the Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports framework and evidence-based practice. Dually certified as a Behavior Analyst and an occupational therapist, she possesses a unique understanding of special education and the necessary support to promote student success. Her expertise focuses on using an evidence-based approach to promoting positive behavior and improving functional performance in the education environment.
