More Ways to Connect With Maine Agriculture This Weekend!

Autumn is an especially meaningful time of year to appreciate Maine’s farms and the landscapes that are critical to their success. If you’re looking for more ways to celebrate local, here are some suggestions:

  • Indigenous Peoples’ Weekend – There are many ways to support first nations people. If you’re looking for an agricultural and local food connection, consider getting to know Real Maine members, Mi’Kmaq Farms & Fish Hatchery, Passamaquoddy Maple, and Passamaquoddy Wild Blueberry to name a few!
  • Open Creamery Day – Sponsored by the Maine Cheese Guild members. This annual tradition is the perfect way to learn more about how Maine milk is carefully crafted and transformed into dozens of varieties of award-winning, Maine cheeses. It’s easy to find a favorite, or multiple favorites! Plus, it’s even more fun to get a behind-the-scenes look at the quality and care put into each batch. Learn more: Maine Cheese Guild – Serving the interest of cheese-makers and cheese lovers in Maine and beyond
  • Maine Maple Fall Tours – Sugar maple trees transitioning into stunning orange colors are a beloved sign of fall. These beautiful trees are the reason for pure Maine maple syrup, a delicious natural sweetener made from sugar maple sap. Celebrate all things maple with Maine Maple Fall Fest – Maine Maple Producers Association
  • Show and share your explorations! While you’re out exploring, post your pictures onto social media, use #RealMaine and #MaineThing. Thank you for supporting Maine farms, farm products and related businesses!
