Description: Reflecting the increasing globalization of modern society, this course employs an Atlantic perspective to understand the international history of early modern North America. Focuses on the geography of the European empires that shaped North America, beginning with the Spanish and the French, and then focusing on the British and the revolt of the American colonies. (GEO 349 and HTY 349 are identical courses).
