Description: States have sought to control Americans’ sexual lives from colonial times to the present. This class will explore the interests involved in and repercussions of efforts to control/define marriage, reproduction, sexual identity and prostitution with attention to the various implications of race, class, gender, and ethnicity.
General Education Requirements: Satisfies the General Education Western Cultural Tradition, Cultural Diversity and International Perspectives and Writing Intensive Requirements.
Prerequisites: Three credits of History or permission.
