Why did you decide to become a GSG senator?: I decided to become a GSG Senator because I am passionate about representing the interests and concerns of my fellow students, especially as an international student. I believe that by serving as a senator, I can contribute to making positive changes in our academic community while also learning about the dynamic cultural diversity on campus. This experience will not only help me grow as a leader but also foster a deeper understanding of our global community.
How would you best serve your constituents?: I would best serve my constituents by actively listening to their concerns, being accessible and approachable, and advocating for policies and initiatives that align with their needs and priorities. Additionally, I aim to foster open communication channels and regularly seek feedback to ensure I represent their interests effectively.
Please tell us about your research or some fun facts about you: Christopher Yalley is my name, and I am from Ghana. In addition to my role as a SPIA GSG Senator, I’m an avid volleyball player and trumpet enthusiast. These hobbies have not only taught me the value of teamwork and discipline through volleyball but have also given me a creative outlet and a love for music through playing the trumpet. I believe these diverse experiences help me bring a well-rounded perspective to my role as a senator
How do you plan on communicating with your constituents?: I plan to communicate with my constituents through various channels aside from what previous representatives have been doing, such as regular meetings, open forums, and social media platforms. Additionally, I will establish an easily accessible feedback mechanism to ensure their voices are heard and their concerns are addressed effectively. My goal is to maintain transparent and inclusive communication to better serve their needs and interests
