Research: Research: Our lab’s primary goal is to develop new potato varieties that meet the needs of potato growers in the eastern region using both conventional and modern breeding techniques. We aim to enhance the sustainability of the potato industry by improving tuber yield and quality, as well as resistance to late blight, scab, soft rot, and potato virus Y. Our research program mainly focuses on breeding russet and fry-processing varieties, but we are also interested in creating cultivars suitable for the fresh market and specialized niches. We are constantly exploring ways to make the breeding process more efficient by conducting research on quantitative genetics, improved breeding techniques, and genomics.
