Dr. Maren Bohleber is a Faculty Associate in the field of Equine Sciences, specializing in equine
anatomy, biomechanics, saddle fitting, and equine rehabilitation. She has a background in zoology
and a PhD in Neurobiology and is also the CEO of a her own company in Germany (www.maren-
bohleber.de). Her work focuses on equine physiotherapy, osteopathy, and saddle fitting, offering
consultation and educational programs for horse owners and equine professionals. With over 35
years of riding experience, her passion for horses drives her ongoing commitment to improving
equine soundness through evidence-based practices.
Maren contributes to innovative research, which explores advanced approaches to equine
biomechanics and gait analysis in combination with saddle fitting. She also brings practical training in
equine ethology to her work, enabling to adopt a holistic approach to equine welfare. Maren is
dedicated to educating the next generation of equine professionals, fostering a practical and scientific
