Alpha One
Alpha One is Maine’s Center for Independent Living. They serve people of all ages with a range of disabilities: mobility impairments, traumatic brain injury, deafness, blindness, other vision and hearing impairments, developmental disabilities (NOT including intellectual disabilities), mental illness, and AIDS.
Center for Community Inclusion and Disability Studies
The University of Maine Center for Community Inclusion and Disability Studies (CCIDS), is Maine’s University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (UCEDD). CCIDS offers statewide interdisciplinary education, research and evaluation, community engagement, and dissemination of state-of-the-art information.
Disability Rights Maine
Disability Rights Maine (DRM) is Maine’s Protection & Advocacy agency for people with disabilities. DRM represents people whose rights have been violated or who have been discriminated against based on their disability. We also provide training on rights and self-advocacy and we advocate for public policy reform.
Maine Developmental Disabilities Council
MDDC is a partnership of people with disabilities, their families, and public and governmental agencies which promotes and advocates for equal opportunities for persons with developmental disabilities to participate in every aspect of community life.
Families
Maine Parent Federation
Maine Parent Federation (MPF) is a private non-profit organization. MPF provides information, referral, one on one telephone support, and training to parents of children with disabilities or special health care needs and the professionals who work with these families.
Maine Alliance of Family Organizations
Maine Alliance of Family Organizations (MAFO) is a statewide alliance that formed to better serve families of children with disabilities and special health care needs, and to strengthen the family voice in policy issues.
Self-Advocacy
Speaking Up for Us (SUFU)
Speaking Up For Us (SUFU) is Maine’s self-advocacy organization for people with developmental disabilities. SUFU addresses a variety of issues faced by people with DD, provides training, and offers members support advocating for their rights.

Employment for ME provides one-stop access to a wealth of resources about work and disability. The site’s information is organized to help all people easily find information and helpful resources related to the employment of Maine citizens with disabilities.

Maine Autism Institute for Education and Research
The Maine Autism Institute for Education and Research, or MAIER, builds statewide capacity in support of our mission through leadership, training, professional development, technical assistance, collaborative consultation, technology, and research.
The Iris Network
The Iris Network is a community-based, Maine nonprofit 501(c)(3) public benefit corporation serving individuals with blindness and low vision.
Autism Society of Maine (ASM)
The Autism Society of Maine (ASM) is a non-profit organization that offers information to individuals and families of people with ASD. Their Autism Information Specialist Program offers one on one support to attend a school IEP meeting or IFSP meeting and can help with PCP planning with adults.

Maine CITE delivers services and provides information about Assistive Technology, including device demonstrations, reutilization, alternative financing, and training and public awareness.
