Bio: Shannon Wright (DAT; M.Ed.; LAT; ATC) is an assistant professor of athletic training in the School of Kinesiology, Physical Education and Athletic Training, part of the University of Maine College of Education and Human Development. She practiced athletic training for seven years before transitioning to a faculty role. She worked with the Sport Clubs at Iowa State University Recreation Services where she provided services for teams from soccer to rugby to hockey. During her time there, she developed the AT services program for the Rec Services department and oversaw several GAs and students. Wright completed her Doctorate of Athletic Training degree through Indiana State University. While there, her research focused on athletic training and reflective journaling. Her future research will continue with this topic to deepen our understanding of how reflection plays a part in the practice of athletic training.
