Stay at Tanglewood 4-H Camp & Learning Center

  • July 21, 2024 – August 2, 2024 (12 Day)
  • Tanglewood 4-H Camp & Learning Center (Lincolnville, Maine)
  • Earn a total of 4 credits and get 2 different career-ready certifications.
  • Tuition-free for In-state students (Public schools & Homeschoolers) reduced tuition for out-of-state students and Maine private schools students. ($145 per credit).
  • This fully residential program has a residence fee of $900 per student
    • Certification fee costs are included in this residential fee.
    • Scholarships available 

Stay at Greenland Point 4-H Camp & Learning Center 

  • August 5 – 14, 2024 (10 Day) 
  • Greenland Point 4-H Camp & Learning Center (Princeton, ME)
  • Earn a total of 4 credits and get 2 different career-ready certifications.
  • Tuition-free for In-state students (Public schools & Homeschoolers) reduced tuition for out-of-state students and Maine private schools students. ($145 per credit).
  • This fully residential program has a residence fee of $900 per student

Then search for courses, choosing the University of Maine and the subject of KPE. You will find both courses listed, simply check the boxes and submit. 

After registration in both courses, your specific 4-H Camp & Learning Center will reach out for camp registration.

KPE 265

  • 3 course credits
  • Canoeing: paddling techniques, and environmental and equipment considerations for day and overnight trips
  • Bouldering and Climbing: fundamental skills and safety knowledge needed for indoor bouldering and top-rope climbing
  •  Hiking and Orienteering: essential map and compass skills
  • Challenge course: educational concepts behind facilitating and processing adventure-based activities

KPE 207

  • 1 course credit
  • Topics include patient assessment, wound and infection care, environmental emergencies, spinal cord management
    and moving patients, anaphylaxis and other medical emergencies, and CPR/AED
  •  Successful completion of this course carries a nationally recognized Wilderness First Aid (WFA) certification
