Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA)
In compliance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) of 1974 as Amended, Maine’s Public Universities will not release student grades, schedules, financial information or other student education records to parents, or others, unless prior written permission is signed by the student. Students may give their parents or other 3rd parties access to their information by completing the FERPA authorization in their ExplorEC portal account. and submitting it to us. Regardless of age, students enrolled in college courses are covered by Federal FERPA law. Students will need to assign a 4 digit personal identification number (PIN) to each person and share that number with them. When your parent or guardian calls the Early College Administrator, they will need to provide their PIN for verification purposes. This authorization will remain in effect until it is revoked by the student in writing.
