Research Interests
I am an associate professor of marine resource economics in the School of Economics (SOE) at the University of Maine. I specialize in environmental and natural resource economics. In particular, I am interested in rights-based fisheries management, cooperation in the commons, marine aquaculture, marine policy, and non-market valuation methods. I use microeconomics and applied econometric approaches to study how resource management decisions impact resource users and public preferences for resource policy and products. I often work with coastal and marine resource managers to align my research with real-world policy questions.
