Began Conservation Science NRT Program Fall 2022

The natural beauty of Maine attracted me to the university, and the great networking opportunities attracted me to the NRT Conservation Science program. I hope to add an aspect of social science to my academic and professional background.

I received a BS in Watershed Science, with a minor in Spatial Information Management, from Colorado State University. I worked for the USFWS as a geospatial data engineer for 4+ years before moving to Maine for graduate school. I will be pursuing a MS degree in Ecology and Environmental Science at the University of Maine. I am interested in climate modeling, endangered species, and snow hydrology, among many others! My current research will dive into the world of species distribution modeling. Specifically, the wintering distributions of four at-risk passerines.

Fun fact(s): 1. I survived Category 4/5 Hurricane Wilma in Mexico in 2005. 2. I have skied the steepest man-made run in the United States – Rambo at Crested Butte in Colorado.
