Joseph Hanley

Joseph P. Hanley, Esq.

Joe Hanley is a Partner and Director at the Boston law firm of McDermott,
Quilty, Miller & Hanley, LLP, where he specializes in land use, zoning,
licensing and administrative law.  His practice includes over 25 years of
experience in the State and Municipal regulatory process for large to mid-
scale real estate developments in the mixed-use, residential, commercial,
hospitality, biotechnology/life sciences and institutional sectors.
He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Boston Arts Academy
Foundation, the former President of the Board of Directors of Heading
Home, Inc., and current Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of
Boston’s Back Bay Association.  As an original member of the New
England Steering Committee for the 2008 Presidential Campaign of Barack
Obama, he was an Obama Victory Trustee, Democratic National Finance
Committee member and Delegate to the Democratic National Convention.
Joe received his BA in Political Science from UMaine in 1992 and was a
Congressional intern for U.S. Senator Cohen. After graduating from
UMaine, he served as a legislative aide on the Senator’s staff in Washington,
DC and district offices in Maine. Joe graduated Cum Laude with his J.D.
from Suffolk Law School in Boston and lives in Newton, Massachusetts
with his wife Erin and their two daughters.
