Rep. Genevieve McDonald

Rep. Genevieve McDonald previously served in the Maine House, representing Cranberry Isles, Deer Isle,
Frenchboro, Isle au Haut, North Haven, Southwest Harbor, Stonington, Swan’s Island, Tremont
and Vinalhaven. She served as the House chair of the Government Oversight Committee and on
the Joint Standing Committee on Marine Resources.

McDonald, a graduate of the University of Maine, is a commercial fisherman in Stonington. She
is the Downeast Region Representative on the Maine Lobster Advisory Council and a member
of the Maine Climate Council. McDonald is the Fisheries Liaison for New England Aqua Ventus,
a partnership between Diamond Offshore Wind, RWE, and University of Maine researchers to
test and develop Maine’s offshore wind power technology.
