Tucker Foote leads public policy for Mastercard in the Americas.
Tucker devises and leads advocacy campaigns in North and South America to protect and
promote Mastercard’s priorities in areas such as payment security, cryptocurrency, new
technologies, competition, digital enablement, privacy, inclusive growth, artificial
intelligence, and cybersecurity. He also leads Mastercard’s global trade operations, where
he advances strategies to open new markets around the world and protect existing
operations through trade enforcement.
He has received numerous industry honors, including being recognized as a Top
Lobbyist by The Hill every year since 2011 and inclusion on the Power 100 from
Washington Life.
Tucker currently serves on several advisory boards, including the Electronic Payments
Coalition, the Chamber Technology Engagement Center, the Cohen Institute of
Leadership and Public Service, and the Information Technology Industry.
Previously, Tucker served on the staff of the House Financial Services Committee,
ultimately leaving as Senior Professional Staff in 2005 to join Mastercard. His
responsibilities on the Committee included oversight of regulated financial institutions
and credit card industry practices, as well as expanding consumer access to credit,
eliminating predatory practices in the lending industry, and evaluating money laundering
legislation and terrorist funding mechanisms.
Tucker is a graduate of Yale University where he majored in Economics.
