In this workshop we will discuss the value of mid-semester “check-in” of your students to gather formative feedback that can be used to improve your teaching. We will demonstrate developing both in-class and online surveys to gather anonymous student feedback, how to use online tools such as Google Forms and Qualtrics, and how to interpret and use the results. Why is group work so hard?

Having our students work collaboratively in our courses is an effective way to increase engagement and learning.  Yet, many faculty and students dislike group work.
