Emerging Scholars Colloquium

Emerging Scholars Colloquium
American Council for Quebec Studies (ACQS)
In Baltimore
20-23 October, 2022

The ACQS invites proposals for papers for our Emerging Scholars Colloquium to be held in conjunction with our 2022 biennial convention. With the participation of the Association internationale des études québécoises (AIEQ) and the Canadian-American Center at the University of Maine, we will host a pre-convention series of panels (October 19) for graduate students and junior faculty whose research touches on Quebec, Francophone Canada,
and Franco-America. Acceptance into this colloquium is competitive, and the scholars chosen will benefit from close connections with other graduate students and junior faculty as well as from mentorship from senior scholars.

The Emerging scholars chosen should attend significant portions of the full ACQS convention. They will receive $500 for lodging and additional support for travel and registration from the AIEQ. We will encourage the best paper(s) from the colloquium to be submitted for publication in the peer-reviewed journal Québec Studies.

To submit an abstract: All submissions (+/-250 words) are made via the ACQS website. Conference presentations can be made in French or English.
