Laptop Requirement

The Maine Business School requires all business students to have a personal laptop. Laptops may be a Mac or PC, though a PC is preferred. Chromebooks, iPads, and Surface laptops are not acceptable for use in the Maine Business School, as they do not support the required software.

You do not need to purchase a new laptop if you already own one, as long as it meets the minimum requirements below:

Processor: Intel Core i5 or AMD Ryzen 5
Memory: 8 GB of RAM (16 GB is recommended)
Storage: 256 GB solid-state drive (SSD)
Operating System: Windows 11 and MacOS 14 (Sonoma)
Camera and Microphone: Must be present and fully functional for online meetings, coursework, and advising appointments

Students are also required to download Microsoft 365, which is available for free through the student portal launchpad.
