MaineMBA ranked Top 50 program

Orono, Maine — In its 2020 rankings released on Wednesday, U.S. News & World Report ranked the MaineMBA No. 47 in online master of business administration programs.

“We are excited that our online MBA has broken into the top 50 best programs, as this is an incredible affirmation of the high-quality MBA that we deliver,” says J. Michael Weber, dean of the University of Maine Graduate School of Business.

The MaineMBA continues to evolve through an innovative curriculum that builds on the reputation and high standards of 55 years of graduate business education at the University of Maine. This year’s No. 47 placement represents the third consecutive year of rankings improvements for the MaineMBA, up from No. 131 in 2018 and No. 90 in 2019.

“We attribute this significant increase in our ranking to the efforts of our faculty,” says Weber. “They excel at delivering industry-relevant content and providing experiential learning opportunities for our students.”

Perhaps the most exciting of these efforts is the introduction of new concentrations. In order to better prepare graduates for industry-specific leadership roles, the MaineMBA offers tracks in business analytics, finance and accounting.

“After numerous conversations with employers and leaders around the state, we learned that concentrations were needed to fill critical workforce gaps,” says Weber.

In addition to being offered 100% online, the MaineMBA has campuses in Orono and Portland, Maine. And as of January 2020, the Graduate School of Business offers 12% tuition discounts toward the MaineMBA. The Workforce Partners Program, available to active members of any Maine chamber of commerce, improves access and affordability toward completion of the MaineMBA.
