Kirsten received her BA in Anthropology with minors in Archaeology and Native American Studies from SUNY Cortland. For her dissertation work, she wants to examine the impacts that climate change can have on peoples’ cultural identities throughout the Adriatic region in the Mediterranean, and also how individuals and communities perceive and react to the current climate change(s). She hopes to create a cross-cultural analysis of these perceptions and changes by carrying out her fieldwork in Italy and Croatia.
Her interests include studying culture and heritage, Mesoamerican, Ancient Greek, Roman and Italic ceramics, climate change, and sustainable life practices, as well as recreational activities including rugby, automobile racing, and traveling.
