Judy P. Walker, Ph.D., CCC-SLP, Associate Professor    Judy P. Walker

Judy P. Walker is an Associate Professor and coordinator of the Speech Therapy Telepractice program.  Her academic and research interests include: speech therapy telepractice, neurolinguistics, and cognitive neuroscience.  Dr. Walker has extensive clinical training working with a variety of patients in medical centers, rehabilitation hospitals, and long-term health care facilities.  In addition to her academic, research, and clinical background, Dr. Walker has attained many years of administrative experience. She was the  Head of Speech Language-Pathology  at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH and  also served as the Chairperson of the Department of Communication Sciences at the University of Maine for several years.

Casey Monnier is a departmental lecturer and staff speech-language pathologist. She provides clinical education and supervision for graduate students at the Conley Speech, Language and Hearing Center and at remote off-campus settings via telepractice.  Her experience in the field of speech pathology is diverse.  She has worked with both the preschool and school-age populations in various settings,  as well as with adult clients in neurogenic rehabilitation, skilled nursing, and long-term health care facilities.


Michael Towey, M.A., CCC-SLP,  Adjunct Lecturer

Mike Towey

Michael Towey  is the Manager of the Speech-Language Pathology Department  at Waldo County General Hospital in Belfast, ME.  He teaches courses in Voice Disorders and Speech Therapy Telepractice for the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at the University of Maine  and other programs throughout the country. He has many years of professional experience working with children and adults with communication disorders. He also provides telepractice services internationally, coordinates the speech therapy telepractice program at Waldo County General Hospital, and  recently published a chapter  on speech therapy telepractice in the book Telerehabilitation (2012).
