Kristyn Kleman
I hold a BS in Marine Biology with a minor in Chemistry from Millersville University, and a MS in Marine Biology from the Halmos College of Natural Sciences and Oceanography. I have previously worked as a Research Assistant/Deckhand in Greece, the Research Coordinator at a non-profit marine science field station in Virginia, and most recently worked in the research administration office at UMaine.
From sharks, to oysters, to dolphins, fish and corals… I’ve had the opportunity to research several of the ocean’s organisms. Whatever the creature, my research interests have always been focused on the ecological crossroad between oceanography and marine biology, or how the physical parameters of the ocean impact the biological parameters, specifically concerning those parameters most impacted by anthropogenic activities. Currently, I am involved in several projects that evaluate lobster settlement and post settlement, and the factors which influence lobster distribution in the Northeast US.
