The Labor Studies track enables students to better understand the U.S. labor movement and workplace through historical, political, legal, economic, social, and organizational perspectives. Students become familiar with the concepts, vocabulary, and alternative dispute resolution processes in employment and labor relations.

Curriculum

The Labor Studies track is 24 of the 120 credits required for the Bachelor of University Studies. 

In addition to the UMaine general education requirements, the following courses are required (7 credits):

  • UST 300: Core Course in University Studies (3 credits)*
    Meets upper-level Writing Intensive General Education requirement
