The Office of Student Financial Aid is excited to offer faculty/staff drop-in forums during the 2020-2021 academic year.

Each month we will be hosting Zoom forums for any and all UMaine faculty or staff member to join.  We will be presenting different topics each month, but most importantly, allowing general financial aid questions from attendees, to help educate and provide important financial aid resources to those that interact with students in any capacity.

We will also be recording all sessions/presentations and making them available for on-demand viewing.

Topic: Proration, Refund/Registration Holds, and Contacting Financial Aid

Description: Join Financial aid as we talk about the process of financial aid proration and enrollment-based adjustments to financial aid.  We will also be discussing how to troubleshoot a variety of refund and registration holds that a student may have. Finally, we will be overviewing the different ways of contacting our office (for both students and faculty/staff).

Description: Join Financial aid as we discuss the different situations that a student may receive a financial aid refund and how they will receive it. In addition, we will be talking about the financial aid implications of students withdrawing from courses throughout the semester.

Topic: Verification, 2021-2022 Award Timeline, Winter Session

Description: Join Financial aid as we talk about the process of financial aid verification.  We will also be discussing scholarship programs for the 2021-2022 academic year and the awarding timeline for both new and continuing students. We’ll also be talking about how financial aid is applied to Winter Session courses.
