Mnozil Brass members Thomas Gansch, trumpet, and Leonhard Paul, trombone, will present a Jazz Combo Master Class on April 10, from 12-2 PM in Room 100 of the Class of 1944 Hall. Also performing in the Master Class will be the Bangor High School Jazz Combo.
Free and open to the public.
This precedes the MNOZIL BRASS concert at 4PM in the Collins Center for the Arts.
Gansch and Paul are founding member of the Austrian Brass Septet, known worldwide for their comedy antics, showmanship and world class musicianship.
Members of the UMaine Jazz Combo program, directed by Dr. Dan Barrett, will perform for the duo.
This will be Gansch’s third visit to UMaine (he appeared as a guest trumpet soloist with the Umaine Jazz Ensemble in 2013) and the second appearance of Monzil Brass at the Collins Center. Their first appearance n 2013 was such a success, they were immediately invited to return.
The concert is a near sell-out, with six weeks still to go.
The Master Class is free of charge and open to the public.
All are invited to attend.
Participation is limited to the groups mentioned above.
