You can complete the Economics BA program entirely online. It provides a broad coverage of economic concepts and methods, and it’s flexible for students with double majors in other disciplines.

Tips to help you navigate the Economics BA program as an online student:

  • Work with your academic advisor to set up a plan to complete your degree. This is important because some classes have one online section per year, and some online electives are offered every other year.
  • Start with Principles of Microeconomics and Principles of Macroeconomics, as well as a Statistics course and Math course.
  • Next, complete Intermediate Microeconomics, Intermediate Macroeconomics, and Principles of Economic Data Analysis.
  • Take Economics electives throughout the program.
  • Pursue a minor or double major to set your degree apart.
  • Complete all other UMaine requirements.
