School Graduate Appointed to Senior Director Position at Oracle
Congratulations to Jayant Sharma! Jayant acquired his PhD in Spatial Information Science and Engineering here at the University of Maine. Following is the announcement as distributed at Oracle:
It is my pleasure to tell you that Jayant Sharma has been promoted to Senior Director, Product Management. This is well-earned and is in recognition of his many contributions to the broad internal and external adoption of Oracle’s spatial technologies and of his expanding responsibilities for the Spatial and Graph team’s cloud deliverables.
Jayant is a respected industry expert, representing Oracle on National Academy of Sciences, University of Southern California, ISO, and Open Geospatial Consortium boards and committees. He joined Oracle in 1996 as a Member of Technical staff working on Oracle Data Cartridges with a PhD in Spatial Info Science from U. Me., an MS in Comp Science from IIT, and Bachelors of Engineering.
