From UMaine to a Global Law Practice: Finding Opportunity in a Changing World

Jeff Johnson (BS ’93, MS ’95) is Co-Chair of the Technology Transactions and Licensing practice at WilmerHale, a global law firm with ~1000 attorneys worldwide. Based in Boston, Jeff works with clients from all over the U.S. and the world. He advises clients in licensing of patents, data, software and other technologies, joint development and collaboration agreements, intellectual property (IP) strategy and commercialization, litigation settlements, and general contract strategy and negotiation. His clients range from start-ups to large international companies in virtually all areas of industry, including biofuels, silicon sensors, robotics, cybersecurity, national defense, financial institutions, data analytics, medical devices, internet businesses and many others. He earned a BS in Surveying Engineering from UMaine in 1993, a MS in Spatial Information Science and Engineering from UMaine in 1995, and a J.D. from Stanford Law School in 1998.
