Maine Learning Assistants (MLAs) are undergraduate students who are hired by instructors who have received a FIG-MLA grant. MLAs are paid ($14.15/hour) to work four or seven hours per week assisting with instruction and facilitating student discussion.

Specific responsibilities of MLAs include:

  1. Assisting the lead instructor and Teaching Assistants in the classroom and/or recitation sections,
  2. Preparing for instructional duties, and
  3. Participating in weekly required professional learning sessions about Teaching and Learning (all new MLAs).
